The Carmel River Inn, located only a mile from the village of Carmel-by-the-Sea, is tucked away in a peaceful, pastoral setting. With our 24 cottages, 19 guestrooms and 10 acres of gardens, forest and meadow, we offer large comfortable accommodations away from the hectic pace of our everyday life.
The inn has a spacious heated pool, decks and patios for relaxing, and plenty of room for children to play. Many of the cottages have a wood burning fireplace and several have a fully equipped kitchen. The guestrooms have private decks and woodland views. The cottages vary in size from private honeymoon cottages to ones that can accommodate six in cozy comfort.
Enjoy the pleasure of waking to the sounds of morning in the country...wind gently flowing through the trees and birds singing. No city noises here. Take the short walk to the historic Carmel Mission, built in 1771 and completely restored to reflect the story of the Spanish missionaries. A short stroll will lead you to the Carmel River beach where you can enjoy a lazy afternoon in the sun and end your day by watching a beautiful California sunset.

All rooms have either a private deck or patio and are equipped with a coffee maker. Many of the cottages have a fireplace and some offer kitchenettes.
In addition their newly created meadow provides the perfect spot for an outdoor
wedding or family gathering. Able to accommodate up to 200 persons, we look
forward to hosting your group.
Our accommodations can be divided into three categories- the guestrooms at the Inn, the cottages, and the duplexes
(these are two cottages with a common wall between them).
